INTRODUCTION
WELCOME TO THE ABINGDON ARTS FESTIVAL 2012

Once again it is Festival Time. We have put together a programme which we hope will entertain you and your family. As has now become a regular pattern most of the events are by local groups and artists putting on events specially for the Festival. The programme reminds us of the wealth of talent to be found locally.

We start with the pre-event Festival Ball with live music provided by “Swingtime” on 18 February. We hope this will put you in the swing for the Festival in March and raise much needed funds. This years headline act is Mark Steel who will include his own views of Abingdon from afar. You will probably have heard him on radio where he performs his own show and is a regular contributor to other comedy shows and national newspapers.

You yourself can get involved in the Big Sing. Be a “military wife” for a day! We cannot promise you a number 1 at Christmas but we can promise lots of fun. No experience necessary. We thank the local businesses who have supported us, despite the recession, and encourage you to support them in return.
